A COMMUNITY OF ANGLERS
PASSIONATE ABOUT CONSERVATION
The Mianus Chapter of Trout Unlimited is part of a national conservation organization dedicated to conserving, protecting and restoring our coldwater fisheries. The Mianus Chapter has over 4,000 members and supporters - all passionate anglers and conservationists - in the Greenwich, Stamford, Darien, Norwalk, New Canaan, Ridgefield, Wilton and other nearby communities.
As a conservation organization, the Mianus Chapter is primarily involved in active restoration work on local rivers and streams, but also promotes educational activities, hosts regular fishing outings and works with local and state agencies and regional environmental organizations to plan and implement conservation programs.
We invite you to join us by becoming a member, joining our mailing list and learning more about fishing and conservation in your own backyard.
THE CHAPTER ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:
Restoring trout habitat in the Mianus and Norwalk rivers
Hosting annual annual river trash cleanup events
Running Trout in the Classroom in the local schools as part of an educational curriculum
Engaging veterans through our Veterans Service Partnership program
Partnering with agencies and environmental organizations in the region
Hosting an annual fishing derby for Connecticut Special Olympics
Holding monthly chapter events to keep members informed and active
